All you people misinterpreted my comment. I was responding to another poster who said Adele has an original sound. Actually I am a fan of Adele's music because her voice is reminiscent of Lauryn Hill and Etta James who I love. FYI I have Adele, Amy and Duffy's albums. Race does not stop me from enjoying good music. My comment was to point out the bias in all those comments that did not give credit to the original singers of this genre of music. Music may be colorblind but the industry is not.

You need to go back an read my original post which was in response to another poster. I am not ignorant but I am educated enough to know that the music industry discriminates. Yes Amy, Adele and other white artists who sing whats considered the "classic black" sound do so because they learned or grew up listening to this type of music (you obviously sing what you hear). My point is that some people think that they invented this sound. They don't give credit to the original singers.
